Before you try to figure it all out, pause.
Before you ask your body to do more, become quiet enough to listen.
Let your feet meet the ground beneath you. Feel the steadiness of the earth holding your weight. Notice the places where your body is supported, where you are already being held.
Soften your jaw. Unclench your hands. Allow your shoulders to settle, even if only a fraction.
Take a slow breath, without forcing it to be deeper than it wants to be. Let it go.
Now, gently bring your attention inward.
What sensations are present today? Warmth or coolness. Tightness or spaciousness. A flutter in the chest. A feeling in the belly. A quiet you haven’t noticed in a while.
There is nothing to fix. Nothing to push away.
Simply meet yourself where you are.
If it feels comfortable, place one hand over your heart and the other over your lower abdomen. Feel the warmth of your own touch. Let it be a small gesture of reassurance—a way of saying to yourself, I am here. I am listening.
Stay for a few breaths.
You do not have to earn your rest. You do not have to make sense of every feeling before you are allowed to soften.
Sometimes, healing begins in the smallest moments: when we stop overriding ourselves and begin to listen.
Let this be your invitation to return to yourself, one breath at a time.
At Blue Heron Acupuncture, we create space for this kind of reconnection—where your body can soften, your nervous system can find moments of ease, and you can feel more at home within yourself.
Come as you are. You are welcome here.
